EB1A Success: Evaluation and Evidence to Meet EB1A Press Criteria

Evaluation and Evidence of EB1A Press Criteria
The third EB1A criterion is “Evidence of published material about you in professional or major trade publications or other major media,” which means media publications about you. In this blog, we explain the evaluation process and the evidence needed to meet the EB1A press criteria.

Evaluation of EB1A Press Criteria:

Evaluation of EB1A Press Criteria

USCIS considers two factors in determining whether you qualify for the EB1A press criteria:

Firstly, they examine whether the media is about you and your work in your field of expertise.

Secondly, they determine whether the media in which your work is published is of professional publication or major media/trade publications.

Furthermore, when examining the publication to qualify for professional or major trade/media publication, they consider several factors such as circulation statistics, and intended audience.

Evidence Meeting EB1A Press Criteria

To meet the Press criteria, you need to demonstrate that major media/trade or professional publications have covered you and your work in your field by providing robust evidence. Several examples of evidence you must submit to fulfill this EB1A criterion include:

1. Documentation that includes your name, indicating that the work discussed pertains to you.

2. Circulation statistics indicate how broadly the publication is distributed and provide a rough estimate of how many people may have viewed your work.

3. Details regarding the intended audience of the publication illustrate how your work is relevant to the reader.

4. Submission of translations of the publication, if the published material was not in English.

5. Providing publication information such as the title, date, and author of the published material.

Conclusion

Having published material or media about you and your work demonstrates that your work is significant in the field. Thus, having media enhances your EB1A profile.

Moreover, hiring a PR agency or publishing news-wire-type articles will not fulfill the EB1A press criteria. This is because such actions frequently lead to the dissemination of identical content across multiple platforms, thereby failing to showcase your extraordinary abilities.
