February Visa Bulletin 2025: What Indian Applicants Need to Know

February visa bulletin
The February Visa Bulletin 2025 is finally here, and for many Indian applicants, it brings hope and disappointment. While some categories saw minimal movement, others remained stagnant. Let’s look into the details to understand what this bulletin means for you.

EB1 Category: No Movement

There’s not much progress this month for those waiting in the EB1 category. The Final Action Date stays on February 1, 2022, and the Date for Filing remains on April 15, 2022.

Although this news may feel discouraging, it’s important to remember that the EB1 category is still one of the fastest options for Indian applicants. A two-year wait is much more manageable than the decades-long wait in other categories like EB2 and EB3.

EB2 and EB3: Only Small Steps Forward

When it comes to the EB2 category, there has been minimal movement. The Final Action Date for India has moved forward by just two weeks to October 15, 2012. Meanwhile, the Date for Filing remains January 1, 2013.

The EB3 category has also seen a similar shift. The Final Action Date now stands at December 15, 2012, a two-week advancement. The Date for Filing remains June 8, 2013.

Unfortunately, the minimal progress in EB2 and EB3 means that long wait times are still in place for Indian applicants.

Key Update: Dates for Filing and Adjustment of Status

Dates of filing and Adjustment

One important thing to note from the February Visa Bulletin 2025 is that the Dates for Filing chart cannot be used to file Adjustment of Status (AOS) applications this month. This means applicants hoping to move forward with their green card process through this method must wait for future bulletins to see if the dates change.

Can We Expect Change?

Looking ahead, the March Visa Bulletin may bring some shifts, but any major changes are unlikely unless there’s a policy change. If there is an increase in the number of green cards available or changes to the laws, we might see some positive shifts. But it’s best to stay hopeful for now, even if progress is slow.

A Faster Path: EB1A Green Card

EB1A Green card

If you’re frustrated by the long wait times in EB2 and EB3, consider the EB1A green card a faster option. This category has one of the shortest wait times, often around two years.

The best part? You don’t need employer sponsorship or labor certification. If you can demonstrate extraordinary ability in a field, you could qualify for EB1A. Plus, once you are eligible, you can use your EB2/EB3 priority date to speed up the process.
