Virat came to the US to pursue his master’s degree. After graduation, he began working in the supply chain industry. Like every student on an F1 visa, Virat faced challenges obtaining an H1B visa. His company did not initiate the H1B visa process for him during his first opportunity, due to internal politics. In the second attempt, the company filed an H1B registration for him, but he was not selected in the random lottery selection process. Furthermore, his third H1B visa attempt was also unsuccessful. Consequently, these immigration challenges led him to move to Canada through his US company and become responsible for managing their Canadian site.

 

During this period, Virat discovered our Smart Green Card program through one of his mentor’s talk shows, where our founder Saiman discussed the EB1A green card path and the Smart Green Card Program. That’s when Virat decided to seize the EB1A path to realize his American Dream and eventually signed up for the Smart Green Card program to receive guidance and support on his EB1A journey.

 

Virat was one of the earlier members of the Smart Green Card program. At that time, the Smart Green Card program did not offer a VIP plan. However, the Smart Green Card team provided him with direct support in several situations and offered press features.

 

Initially, Virat had limited knowledge about the EB1A pathway. Therefore, our team broke down the EB1A process and its requirements for him. Once he realized his expertise in the supply chain and production technologies niche, he embarked on an EB1A journey with the Smart Green Card program.

 

Here is a quick overview of how the Smart Green Card helped Virat utilize his expertise for EB1A.

 

With Smart Green Card’s roadmap, Virat targeted six EB1A criteria: Awards, media, Original Contributions, Scholarly articles, Judging, and Critical Role.

 

Smart Green Card helped him understand the requirements of the EB1A criteria and the type of evidence he can submit based on his profile to prove his exceptional ability. Additionally, our team helped him find opportunities in judging, journals, and awards in his field. This way, Virat navigated the EB1A criteria and the final merits determination phase.

 

 

Virat noted during the Success Spotlight Session that the Smart Green Card community had helped him in his EB1A journey in two ways:

 

Firstly, when Virat joined the program, our team connected him with a few individuals as per his request for co-authoring papers. During the session, he mentioned that he collaborated with people in the Smart Green Card community and co-authored several papers. Virat also highlighted that he collaborated with people from different domains and identified common topics for mutual benefit. Finally, Virat had 12 papers, including three from his college years (which he never thought he could use).

 

Secondly, a few other successful members of the Smart Green Card community helped him find several peer-review opportunities, in addition to the list of judging opportunities provided by our team. Consequently, Virat secured 22 peer review and other judging opportunities and completed the judging activity as well.

 

When our team had a strategy session call with Virat, we learned that he had mentored students, achieved top ranking in his undergraduate studies, and spoken at a few conferences in his field. Although these aspects do not align with the EB1A criteria, our team assisted him in utilizing these accomplishments to bolster his case for final merit determination, by restrengthening how he gives back to the field through his work. This is because we believe that USCIS also considers evidence that is not related to EB1A criteria in the final merits determination. Why?

 

 

Virat, an early member of the Smart Green Card program, has received extended support from us to help him secure press coverage organically. Finally, Virat successfully obtained approval for his EB1A Petition, resolving his H1B visa challenges. Virat’s journey serves as a powerful example of overcoming obstacles through focused efforts. Virat’s commitment and Smart Green Card’s strategic approach were instrumental in securing his EB1A petition approval without encountering any RFEs.
